The Center supports nine resident artists with hands-on career development, and co-production support, and has subsidized headshots for 87 artists. Through each initiative, the Center champions intellectual curiosity and encourages unconventional approaches to both the creation and distribution of artistic work, fostering dialogue and generating new possibilities for how art is experienced and shared.
“Armed with insouciant physical comedy recalling Carol Burnett, sibling interactions reminiscent of the Marx Brothers, and just a dab of puppetry suggesting Mummenschanz, The Seaweed Sisters bring WEED OH NO! to the Los Angeles Theater Center…”
— Ann Haskins, LA Dance Chronicle”The always inventive artist Mimi Haddon tells me that WEED OH NO!, the "Sisters" first feature-length show will be a visually sumptuous blast for all ages.
"Think Blue Man meets PeeWee's Playhouse, but more lighthearted with an all-female cast," says Haddon.”
— Frances Anderton, KCRW“Maybe there will be a great, magical quote from the Dance Magazine interview that we can link here.
Or we can put the fabulous one from Lucius?”
